Hiking trails allow hikers to visit the different beaches of Racha Yai Island with strange encounters such as water buffaloes and harmless monitor lizards

IMPORTANT:

• All scheduled trips below are flexible and may be changed according to customers' requests.
• Upon request from individuals or small groups, all regular trips of the MV Andaman Seafarer with no firm booking may be booked for a private charter with MV Andaman Seafarer either for a liveaboard dive cruise or either for a liveaboard tour cruise with canoe/kayak or a 5 day dive trip package from Phuket.
• In the case of a regular cruise, Seafarer Divers will complete all free places if the booking by individuals or groups is not sufficient to fill up the boat with the exception of a private charter booking.

From the end of October until the middle of December is the best period for a day dive trip stay on Phuket.

• MV Andaman Seafarer had just got out of shipyard with some new features for a better comfort for the divers.
• The crew is excited by the comeback of the dive cruises with weekly departures.
• Less tourists, so most dive spots are not crowded by mass tourism.
• Easier period to find rooms in hotels and seats on international and/or domestic flights at bargaining prices.
• Most of all marine national parks (Andaman Sea) had been closed to tourism from May until the end of October so reefs had time to recover.
• Warm (27-28°) and clear gin waters with visibility up to 20 meters which is perfect for the most demanding U/W photographers.
• Cool period with a little or no wind which is perfect for mooring and relaxing between dives.
• Lush green vegetation on all islands following the monsoon from May until October.

From the middle of December until the middle of February is the coolest period with sometime strong wind in the morning.

• It is the most solicited period by the mass tourism.
• It is the most difficult period to find rooms and seats on international and/or domestic flights at bargaining prices.
• Warm (27-28°) and clear gin waters with visibility up to 20 meters which is perfect for the most demanding U/W photographers but some reefs and beaches are difficult to access with the strong wind.
• Cool period with sometime strong wind which is limiting the place for mooring and relaxing between dives.

From the middle of February until the end of April is one of the best periods for a day dive trip package on Phuket.

• Less tourists, so most dive spots are not crowded by mass tourism.
• Easier period tofind rooms in hotels and seats on international and/or domestic flights at bargaining prices especially on April.

From May until the end of October is the raining season period in the Andaman Sea.

• Warm (29-30°) but some beaches and tourist spots are difficult to access with the south-west monsoon.
• Hot period with sometime thunderstorms and strong winds.

Underwater marine life - The East Side of the island offers a wall rich in invertebrates and a good representation of tube corals. There are large moray eels, Black-banded Sea Snakes, Honeycomb Groupers and angelfish, and you have a good chance of seeing Leopard Sharks out on the sand. The western side of the island features a steeply sloping reef. Both Blacktip and Whitetip Reef Sharks have been seen here as well as visiting pelagic are often on view.

ANEMONE REEF

Underwater marine life - Anemone Reef is a collection of rocky plateau. As you might guess, the top part of the reef is smothered in sea anemones; there are many residents such as clownfish, shrimps and Porcelain Crabs. Elsewhere on the reef you will find large clusters of soft corals and enormous gorgonian sea fans. At its deepest point a solitary rock is home to a group of juvenile moray eels.

KING CRUISER WRECK
Distance from Phuket: 20 Miles (1hr50).
Visibility: 5-12 meters. Depth: 3-30 meters.

Underwater marine life - The 80 meters steel hulled passenger ferry had been sunk on May 1997 by hurting Anemone Reef. That huge catamaran rests within the zone of Shark Point Marine Sanctuary in about 30 meters of water on a sandy bottom. Experienced divers can swim through most of the wreck.

Underwater marine life - The Similan Islands can claim as one of the top 10 destinations in Asia with over 20-30 different dives. On the East Coast, the dives are on gentle slopes and drop-offs of fish teeming with impressive gardens of sea anemones and corals flourishing hard or soft. Dives on the west coast is completely different. Here, huge granite boulders cascade down to the bottom at depths of 40m or more. The strong currents prevent the accumulation of sand between the rocks, promoting the formation of a network of tunnels, arches and caves to explore. The currents bring nutrients for masses of gorgonians, crinoids, soft corals and lush. Pelagic like whale sharks or reef sharks, manta rays, the eagle ray, barracuda, kingfish and tuna are frequently observed.

MV ANDAMAN SEAFARER is a comfortable live-aboard vessel in teak and steel and perfectly adapted for diving or touring. She may by SavePassup to 14 passengers: 6 in three VIP A/C private cabins (two single berths) and 8 in two FIRST CLASS A/C cabins (four single berths). Each cabin has 2 or 4 single berths with standard mattresses (200x90).

• Seafarer Divers and MV Andaman Seafarer

are insured in Thailand with "Chartis Insurance (Thailand) Company" as a professional dive center as well as an inbound dive tour-operator with a travel insurance policy covering up to a 1,000,000 Baht (+/-25.000 €uro) per accident.

• We suggest to all participants to sign up for extra travel insurance in order to cover travel risks accident. Without a travel insurance, any accident without a third party responsible to cover the charge will be under the full responsibility of the involved participant (In Thailand: hospital fee may be up to 15,000 €uro).
• All participants must show sign a waiver of claims before boarding on our liveaboard vessel MV Andaman Seafarer.
• Chiefs of the Marine National Parks at Surin, Similan, Koh Lanta and Tarutao Islands are warning divers, paddlers, tour and dive tour operators that it is illegal to organize tours into the marine national parks during the monsoon season when the seas are rough and dangerous.
